Hit the trails: a MASSIVE thank you to our newest sponsor

Thanks to an incredibly generous donation from Rebecca Symons EXP, we are now the proud owners of a purpose-made up-to-date mountain bike trailer! This isn't just a piece of kit: it’s a ticket to more adventure.

First stop: Forest of Dean

We didn't waste any time putting the new wheels to work. Last weekend, we loaded up the bikes and headed out to the Forest of Dean.

In the past, organising transport for many bikes and a squad of eager riders was a logistical challenge due to an outdated trailer. With the new trailer, we were loaded, secured and on the road in record time.

Why this matters?

For a club like Minehead Merlins, getting away from our local trails is hugely beneficial for our young riders. Seeing them tackle new terrain, build confidence on berms and bond over sandwiches at the picnic spot is what it’s all about.

A huge thanks to Rebecca Symons EXP

Community sport relies on dedicated volunteers and local business sponsors. Rebecca Symons EXP has stepped up for the next generation of riders. Her support means we can plan more trips, reach more trails and make mountain biking accessible to even more young people in our area.

Further details for Rebecca Symons EXP can be found on our sponsors page.

Next time you see the club out and about, give us a bell, honk or a wave!

Jacob Coles, on the podium, came 2nd in the under 12s race at the Southern Enduro, Tiverton. Fantastic effort Jacob! Callum pictured riding above also had success and came 16th in the under 18s race. Callum had a great day attending his first mountain bike race. Brilliant effort Callum! After a morning of practice runs they hit the race stages in the afternoon. Both riders had a a great day racing. Thank you to all of our sponsors and a special shout out to Jewsons for assisting our racers with race entry fees via the Rider Development Fund!
